SolidWorks Drafter needed in a fast-paced welding/fabrication facility. Candidates will benefit from a working knowledge in Sheet Metal and Weldments functionality within SolidWorks.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Component, Sheet Metal, Weldment and Assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
• Create 3D models and drawings from existing and new items.
• Prepares detailed drawings from blueprints, verbal instructions, and rough sketches.
• Field measure and design various parts.

· Material takeoffs from drawing for estimating.

· Review drawings for production before manufacturing.

· Good understanding of different metals

• Communicate with customers on projects.
• Communicate with project manager, shop foreman, purchasing, and other departments.

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred)
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated
• Desire to work in an office and hands-on shop/field environment.

· Ability to multitask.

· Ability to read tape measure and other measuring tools.

Education and Experience Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science degree (Preferred but not required) in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Agricultural Engineering
• Work experience can be substituted as an alternative to a degree.
• Exposure to manufacturing operations that include laser or waterjet cutting of sheet and plate, forming of sheet and plate parts, welding, and machining.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication techniques, weldments, fasteners, steel shapes, etc.

Experience:

• SolidWorks: 1 year (Required)
• Blueprint reading: 1 year (Required)
• Estimator: 1 year (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
